Mysterious 20Hz

Sep 17 2010 Published by under Uncategorized

If you thought On5 is all about cool games and apps, you are definitely and absolutely right.

But that’s not it. We do discoveries too!

While developing the clock for iPad we found out a very peculiar effect: if the screen is blinking at 20Hz from black to white for about a minute, later, even when the app quits, the screen continues to blink by itself. You might think it’s nothing too unusual, but the interesting fact is that it keeps blinking after the reboot.

Of course, you don’t need to worry about any of this. We did some research, and it turned out that the effect reproduces only on 20Hz frequency, but not at 25Hz. We will use the 25Hz for the production version of the clock, and it will not break your iPad (no guarantee given about your eyes though!)

Nevertheless, why does this happen at the rate of 20Hz; it’s the question for you, Steve :)

All others, do not be disappointed, very soon We Doodle will be available worldwide; developer’s promise!

P.S. Some Charadium fans asked us what happens to the game which so happened to become their favorite one. The answer is: nothing, actually. It will continue living its life until everybody tried We Doodle and won’t want to play Charadium anymore :)

P.P.S. Ngmoco, pleasure doing business with you! :)

We Doodle!

Sep 03 2010 Published by under Uncategorized

As you all know, Charadium was acquired by ngmoco in the beginning of this year. But our partnership with ngmoco didn’t stop on this − we’ve continued to upgrade Charadium. We were adding more and more features and eventually guys at ngmoco decided that it’s so cool, it deserves to be a separate project. Now we are really happy with what we’ve done. Game has an awesome gameplay and features. We Doodle got turn-by-turn play modes, new brushes, stencils, backgrounds etc. Also we’ve created Doodle Assist feature, which helps people who hardly draw to create masterpieces. So now the game was submitted to Apple and will hit the store soon. Congrats, ngmoco!
