We are in development a bit too deep again, so this is just to say “Hey! We are still here with you!”, and also to tell that our new amazing game is nearing the internal beta stage. Very soon we will have a teaser video. Stay tuned!

Your new favourite clock

Nov 23 2010 Published by under Uncategorized

The last couple of weeks have been quite busy in our camp.

It all started with the idea of bringing the world something different this time; it usually does. Something with a wee bit of pretence, yet useful; good-looking, yet handy. And most importantly, something that won’t cost you anything. What, regardless hundreds of apps, is App Store still missing? Then it occurred to us: all options iPad has for clocks are either paid, showing annoying adds or ugly. In worst scenario it matches all criteria…

So, without further ado, we give you the new standard of style in clock apps – the ultimate On5 Clock!

In short, we made a clock that:

• Offers 12 amazing skins;
• Loves you and therefore is free and has no ads (unless you want to see them);
• Has an alarm, which works in background too − new on iOS 4.2!;
• Has only one unlockable skin for a modest buck – as a compliment to devs :)

Go download: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/on5-clock/id391342592?mt=8

P.S. Where else have you seen a clock skin made especially for parties? :)

P.P.S If you have your own suggestion for a skin, we’d love to hear it!

Tiptop is reborn!

Oct 20 2010 Published by under Uncategorized

You know, there are times when you think you did the best you could but after a while you find out that’s not exactly the truth.

That’s what we thought about our Lemmings-style line-drawing game “Tiptop: The last march”. But ever since the invention of iPad, we knew that we can do better.

Now it’s official – original TipTop released this April wasn’t actually the last march. Today the new version hit the App Store with two major things upgraded:

  1. High-resolution graphics for iPad screen;
  2. Free download.

Of course, there are plenty of new smaller features you will find after downloading the game and trying it out on your iPad. We hope that you’ll enjoy exploring the possibilities of large screen with this classic game as much as we do.

March forward, the world isn’t going to save itself!

Mysterious 20Hz

Sep 17 2010 Published by under Uncategorized

If you thought On5 is all about cool games and apps, you are definitely and absolutely right.

But that’s not it. We do discoveries too!

While developing the clock for iPad we found out a very peculiar effect: if the screen is blinking at 20Hz from black to white for about a minute, later, even when the app quits, the screen continues to blink by itself. You might think it’s nothing too unusual, but the interesting fact is that it keeps blinking after the reboot.

Of course, you don’t need to worry about any of this. We did some research, and it turned out that the effect reproduces only on 20Hz frequency, but not at 25Hz. We will use the 25Hz for the production version of the clock, and it will not break your iPad (no guarantee given about your eyes though!)

Nevertheless, why does this happen at the rate of 20Hz; it’s the question for you, Steve :)

Great news, iPad owners!

Draw the lines, avoid traps and save the world… on bigger screen!

Yes, Tiptop: The Last March, the game beloved by iPhone users, is finally on its way to your devices.

Same great gameplay with solid HD graphics means even more fun.

And who said size isn’t important?

Military action

May 24 2010 Published by under Uncategorized

We are still busy working on the new project. We can’t unveil what it is exactly yet, but it is going to involve some multiplayer military action.

And you will have a plenty (really a plenty, no other game has ever offered you the amount we are going to!) of killing tools. There are tons of concept sketches, and some of them have already made their way to the early alpha in their final eye-candy 3D view.

Here are some more of them. And yes, that brown thing is wood :)

You know, when you play a game, you always need some goal, a feeling that you do this not just to waste time, but to make the world (even an imaginary one) slightly better. How do you think, is destroying the Earth a good example of such goal?

Hello World!

First of all, thank you for reading this! If you somehow found your way to our humble blog, that means you are interested in what we are doing for Apple devices, and it’s great. Our second favorite thing after making people have fun is making people interested :)

So far we’ve had three major releases: Charadium, Quizarium, and TipTop. Will we stop on that? Of course not. Right now besides improving our current games we are working on two new projects. As you could expect, both of them are games, and moreover those are massively multiplayer games.

As a small teaser we are posting some sketches for one of our upcoming releases. Stay tuned!
